Joel Tracy founded Informed Business Decisions, Inc. (IBDI) to leverage his passion for helping companies that need interim freelance marketing research consultants to better understand their customers, competition and marketplace. This knowledge minimizes risk, resulting in making informed decisions to grow revenue.  Over the past 20 years, he has developed an extensive array of experiences in Marketing Research, Marketing, Forecasting, and Training for leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer packaged goods, and service industries.

During personnel changes, Joel has quickly stepped in as an interim team member for strategic planning and new product launches to keep critical projects moving forward and advance implementation of global marketing research plans. He has also planned and implemented research for repositioning brands.  Joel Tracy has directed the development and delivery of high-performance marketing research training courses for enterprise milestone programs.  He also played a key role in designing global strategic business plans for a Japanese venture capitalist and high-profile partner companies. Before IBDI was launched, Joel Tracy held positions of increasing responsibility within industry-leading pharmaceutical and other organizations, such as:

Searle - Marketing Research Manager, where he partnered with Pfizer to implement the global pre-launch marketing research program for the successful Celebrex launch
Bristol Myers Squibb - Global Marketing Research Manager. Assessment of the global prescription and over-the-counter dermatology business.
The Upjohn Company/Pharmacia and Upjohn - Various positions. Joel Tracy led global marketing research implementation, represented the company for biotechnology joint ventures with Biopure and Chugai – Upjohn , and provided strategic marketing research planning and consulting to upper management.
S.C. Johnson and Sons - provided direction for new products and product category leaders, as well as train new marketing research management and visiting Chinese and Taiwanese officials.
